Allison Koehn grew up in Little River, Kansas and has been an attorney with Newbery, Ungerer & Hickert since 2016.  She assists individuals, companies and charitable organizations with all aspects of estate and tax planning as well as probate and trust administration.  Her practice focuses on sophisticated estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax planning for estates and trusts during a probate or trust administration.

Allison brings a wealth of experience in federal tax controversy matters from her previous work at the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service.  She represents individuals and businesses before the IRS guiding them through the IRS examination and appeals process.  She successfully negotiated a settlement in IRS Appeals, which resulted in a reduction of tax liability in excess of $170,000.

Active in her community, Allison was recently appointed by Governor Laura Kelly as a public member on the Board of Accountancy.  She also serves as a board member on the Greater Topeka Public Safety Foundation, a private, nonprofit organization, which seeks to fund safety projects in the Shawnee County area and the Topeka Tennis Association, a non profit organization, which provides scholarships to junior tennis players.
